How can communities generated by the theater and the classroom take arms against the Anthropocene’s rising sea of troubles? What can the premodern literary archive, embodied and emplaced anew, teach us about the present environmental crisis? Recent work in ecodramaturgy and ecocritical pedagogy has explored just such questions. Highlighting innovative performance-based projects, this roundtable brings together leading scholars of premodern and early modern literature working on the intersection of performance, pedagogy, and environmental activism.
